Current Stage of Innovation

TRL

  • Ergonomically designed with an integrated interdental brush, it offers a cost-effective, easy-to-use solution
with a minimal learning curve. The product is in the beta testing phase, validated through a multicentric clinical trial sponsored by Group Pharma, and has potential for large-scale impact due to its patent protection, scalability, and alignment with national oral health initiatives.

  • In India, dental caries and periodontitis continue to be among the most common oral health problems affecting millions of people across all age groups. Despite widespread awareness of daily brushing, a major cause of these conditions remains the ineffective cleaning of hard-to-reach areas such as the back molars, interdental spaces, and gumline. Traditional toothbrushes often fail to provide adequate access to these regions, allowing plaque and bacteria to accumulate over time. Poor oral hygiene practices, coupled with a lack of affordable and efficient oral care tools, further worsen the problem, especially in rural and low-income populations. Regular dental check-ups and advanced cleaning methods are not easily accessible or affordable for many individuals, making preventive care a challenge. This situation highlights the urgent need for a cost-effective, ergonomically designed toothbrush that can effectively reach and clean all areas of the mouth. A user-friendly design that promotes better plaque removal and gum health could significantly reduce the prevalence of oral diseases.
